Kinetic Typography video made with After Effects of a scene from "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." In this scene, Lucy convinces Charlie Brown to "kick" the football.
A video I filmed and edited that tells the story of a haiku I wrote about sleep. The video is edited using After Effects. Music from www.bensound.com.
A frame-by-frame animation drawn on a Wacom Cintiq using Photoshop and edited using After Effects. It tells the story of a certain lonesome little parking garage tree and the often unseasonable color changes its leaves experience with each passing month. Music from www.bensound.com.

A Creative Project by USC Women's Soccer and School of Visual Art and Design
I made these animations during my senior project class at the University of South Carolina. The videos are intended to show the duality of being a student athlete. They will be played at the team's upcoming games this fall. I designed videos for three specific players on the USC Women's Soccer Team. Before making the animated posters, I interviewed my players in order to better understand what it is like to be a student athlete. I asked each of them questions about their personality, their major and future career path, their hobbies and interests, and ideas for their animations. The information I collected helped me create a unique animation for each of my players. Each animation was drawn on a Wacom Cintiq using Photoshop and animated using both Photoshop and After Effects.
Becky wanted me to incorporate her major in a way that would be very clear to the audience because she is proud to be the only student athlete studying Statistics. The flashing and layering of the equations in the background make it clear to the audience that she is a Statistics Major. The intensity of the animation also shows how overwhelming being a student athlete can become. The equations are written in Becky's own handwriting to make the animation more personal. The text within the video are quotes taken from my interviews with Becky during which she explained what it takes to be a student athlete.

Tori wanted me to incorporate her NYC roots and her plans on becoming a surgeon into her animation. I did this by illustrating the cityscape and the ambulance. The computer, notebook, biology text book, and ambulance flash around Tori's head to show how school and future plans can sometimes be a distraction while she is playing. To reduce the distraction, Tori told me she does her best to focus 100% on school while in class and studying and then put 100% of her focus on soccer only when she is practicing and playing.

Susan did not have any ideas about what she wanted her animation to be like, so I pitched her my idea of "juggling responsibilities." I made a frame-by-frame animation of her by tracing over a video of her juggling a soccer ball. While drawing each frame, I alternated between drawing a ball and an object that Susan uses for school. As an added personal touch, one of the objects is a finance textbook because Finance is Susan's major. The animation shows Susan literally juggling her responsibilities for both school and soccer.
